The Report:

The Mansion, designed by Dallas architect Henry Coke Knight in a Georgian Revival style, is a Texas Historic Landmark, an Austin Historic Landmark and is listed with the National Register of Historic places. It was completed in 1931 with help from philanthropist Clara Driscoll (whose Austin residence, the Laguna Gloria, is now the current home of the Austin Museum of Art). The Grand Ballroom (where most receptions take place), is the largest of its kind in Texas and spans over 4,000 feet with 30-foot ceilings. The mansion only hosts one event at a time.

Woman Getting Married Says:

After writing about several Austin wedding venues, I’m starting to think Austin might be THE city for brides when it comes to the perfect wedding venue. Not only are the budget-friendly, but several have amazing outdoor/indoor options, ample space, great/convenient locations AND you can bring in your own alcohol. I kind of feel like I’m in wedding venue heaven. The Texas Federation of Women’s Clubs Mansion is in a league of it’s own down there, however, when it comes to charm AND price. And when you add the fact that it’s a non-profit organization that won’t add on any other fees, it’s definitely a major find.
