Vogue Season Wedding Tips

THIS COLOURFUL LAS VEGAS WEDDING WAS PLANNED IN JUST 10 WEEKS!!

This adorable couple planned their destination wedding in just 10 weeks and traveled all the way to the US to get married in front of the iconic Las Vegas Statue in front of The Smith Center of Performing Arts.

“We chose to get married in Las Vegas just because it’s such a cliche somehow but also because we wanted to make it our own. Jon was going to Vegas with his friends anyway and we kind of decided to get married there..and have the honeymoon in the US road tripping. It took about 2.5 months to arrange things.” Maren began.

I pretty much Google mapped Vegas and the surrounding areas (having never been in the US before) to get the feel of the city. Then did some further research on Instagram and stumbled upon a picture of this colourful, tall wall that seemed interesting, especially as a background for photography. And that’s how we found the Smith Center for the Performing Arts.” She explained.

“There really was no theme as such? Although, I suppose it could have been, the spark..

“There really was no theme as such? Although, I suppose it could have been, the sparkly lights of Vegas. Hence the glitter in my hair…and face..and on my dress 😀 Why? Well, why not! We wanted to dress up but more for a fancy party than a massive wedding. And to keep it small and sweet.”

” I was looking for a modern ceremony so somehow my husband found this site for Peachy Keen Unions, I read the reviews and their Instagram pictures looked amazing so that’s how we found the officiant. She was SUPER helpful and recommended the photographer and the hair stylist.”

“I did most of the planning and phoning and figuring out the payments etc. Just kept my fingers crossed that everyone would show up! My main “tool” was the internet and just searching the sites for what I had envisioned. Jon “helped” with crushing some of my ideas..that were “too out there”. But come on, how cool would it have been to get married on a Ferris wheel???”

“We had to get everything done within 10 weeks. I wasn’t nervous but thought that, as long as we have the officiant, we’ll be fine. If the luggage gets lost, I’ll marry in jeans…or a bikini! Fortunately, everything worked out just great. When we got to our destination, it was hot outside and I was just like..lets get on with this people! I’m sweating my make up off!” She laughed.

I guess if I were to do anything different I would have liked my outfit to be more more sparkling, like Dorothy from Wizard of Oz and perhaps some different shoes? We also should of had a plan of what we are going to do afterwards because we just went to a random restaurant…which was nice but too…casual and a bit boring.” suggested Maren.
