From styles and colors to fit, what are the biggest trends in bridesmaid dresses RIGHT now?

There’s no slowing of the major themes that bridal parties continue to love: romance & glamour. Long, flowy styles and sequined bling are still very much in vogue. We’re also seeing a shift toward sleek silhouettes and easy-to-wear shapes. Those big skirts and ruched waistlines are being traded for simple, clean lines that are both stylish and comfortable. Another big trend that’s making a comeback: spaghetti straps. Skinny straps are new again, and giving the classic, sweetheart neckline a run for its money!

When it comes to bridesmaid dresses, what do you think we’ll definitely be seeing more of in the future?

Ready-to-wear inspired looks that a bridesmaid could easily wear in a wedding, and then as a guest to another wedding or event. As bridal parties move from matchy-matchy to mix and match, we expect to see even more individuality expressed in each individual bridesmaid’s look.

Which designers are you obsessed with these days?

This is so hard, I can’t choose just one! Jenny Yoo is always on the cutting edge, from silhouettes that are completely versatile and flattering to gorgeous floral prints. Every season, they continue to impress with what they think of next. Watters and Sorella Vita are on my radar too. Both of these designers have been making a run for super wearable styles that are also setting new trends in the category, from sleek silhouettes to stunning sequins.

What’s the most popular color and style at Brideside right now?

Blues are always are our most popular color palette. From deeper shades like midnight to more muted icy hues, designers are offering such a breadth of stunning blues for every style of wedding. In terms of styles, Jenny Yoo’s Inesse has quickly become a new favorite. Inesse hits on all of the trends we’re seeing now: spaghetti straps, easy-to-wear and a flowy silhouette with an ultra-flattering fit for all body types. Choosing bridesmaid dresses can feel stressful for the bridesmaids AND the bride. What’s your #1 tip for keeping your sanity while wedding planning?

This one hits home for me as I’m currently planning my own wedding! All of the decisions can quickly become stressful and overwhelming, especially when they affect so many of your loved ones. We see this dynamic happening right here in our showroom. If her bridesmaids are each sharing different opinions and the bride is trying to please everyone, she can quickly lose sight of her own vision. That’s a great time for us to pop the champagne and ask the bride if she can show us her inspiration photos so we can help her stay focused and help her party have a fun and stress-free time.

What’s the coolest thing you’ve seen Brideside brides do?

My favorite thing is when our brides turn the shopping experience into a full-blown celebration. We’ve had brides bring in a build-your-own parfait bar, customized cupcake trays, or their favorite bottle of rosé. Sometimes they even turn our showroom into their own photo booth! There is nothing we love more than a showroom appointment that feels more like a party with your best friends and less like a wedding planning checklist item.
