Scroll down to see which movie made #1 on our list, and tell us if we left off any of YOUR all-time faves as well!

12. Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates Overview: Brothers Mike (Adam Devine) and Dave (Zac Efron) place an online ad in the hopes of finding the perfect dates to bring to their sister’s wedding in Hawaii. While the hard-partying brothers THINK they found the best pair to help prove to their family they’re not the screw-ups they all think they are, it turns out their dates are even crazier than them.

Why We Love It: Aside from the fact that the whole movie revolves around a destination wedding at the Turtle Bay Resort in Hawaii (which funnily enough is the same hotel used for Forgetting Sarah Marshall), this movie manages to be both charming and funny in a goofy/absurd way. It’s also sort of based on a true story. Mike and Dave Stangle are actually two brothers who went viral after they posted a Craiglist ad looking for wedding dates! While they did meet with a bevy of girls (some of which were apparently downright scary), everything that followed after is pure Hollywood.

11. My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2

Overview: Having spent the past few years dealing with their troubled teenage daughter, Toula (Nia Vardalos) and Ian (John Corbett) are now facing marital problems while also having to deal with yet another big Greek wedding.

Why We Love It: Even though it’s been more than 15 years since the first My Big Fat Greek Wedding (and this sequel is by no means as charming as the first), there’s something great about catching up with all the characters we know and love…kind of like the Sex and the City movies, which also star our favorite Aidan (Corbett).

10. Wedding Crashers

Overview: Divorce attorneys by day and wedding crashers by night, Jeremy (Vince Vaughn) and John (Owen Wilson) love the open bar and tons of single women at weddings. But when they crash the ultimate wedding they find themselves in over their heads in more ways than one.

Why We Love It: The montage of Vaughn and Wilson crashing weddings is worth it alone, but then there’s actually a sweet love story inside all the humor when John meets Claire (Rachel McAdams) and it’s love at first sight. The cameo by Will Ferrell is also priceless!

9. The Wedding Planner

Overview: Single wedding planner Mary (Jennifer Lopez) is successful at work but not in love, until she stumbles upon the man of her dreams (Matthew McConaughey). The only problem? He’s about to find out what she does for a living first hand!

Why We Love It: This was truthfully the movie that got us interested in wedding planning way back in the day! We love J. Lo and the chemistry between her and McConaughey is fun to watch as they figure out exactly what they need (and want) when it comes to finding “the one.”

8. My Best Friend’s Wedding

Overview: Best friends Julianne Potter (Julia Roberts) and Michael O’Neal (Dermot Mulroney) made a pact when they were younger to marry each other if they were still single when they were 28. But when O’Neill tells Potter days before her 28th birthday that he’s marrying new girlfriend Kimberly (Cameron Diaz) she sets out to make him hers and stop the wedding.

Why We Love It: It feels like we’ve all had that one guy friend that at one point in time we wondered “What if?” This romantic comedy is completely relatable because while it might not have the ending we want, it shows you that love and relationships can turn out exactly how they’re supposed to in the end.

7. Bridesmaids

Overview: When Lillian (Maya Rudolph) gets engaged, she of course asks her BFF Annie (Kristen Wiig) to be her maid of honor. The problem is that Annie’s life seems to be crumbling at every turn, and her attempts to make the wedding journey perfect for her friend results in a hilarious disaster for everybody involved.

Why We Love It: The scene with Kristen Wiig on the airplane has to be one of the funniest ever, but what we ALSO love are all the fun friendships that unexpectedly form between this group of bridesmaids.

6. Runaway Bride

Overview: Ike Graham (Richard Gere) is a New York City journalist who wrote a story about “runaway bride” Maggie Carpenter (Julia Roberts), who has left three grooms at the altar. When he shows up in town to cover her fourth wedding that he’s convinced she’s going to run from yet again, it has a surprise effect on them both.

Why We Love It: Sure, we wish this was Pretty Woman 2: The Wedding. But all in all it’s a cute movie that we still love just as much. True story: This movie was on the night before my wedding, which was kind of hilarious if you think about it! Thankfully I made it down the aisle the next day. LOL.

5. The Wedding Singer

Overview: Robbie (Adam Sandler) is a wedding singer in 1985 who gets left at the altar by his girlfriend. Just when he thinks he’ll never get over it, he starts helping co-worker Julia (Drew Barrymore) plan her own wedding to a less than stellar guy. Soon they realize that one of them might be making a big mistake.

Why We Love It: Best. Soundtrack. Ever. That and watching Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler star in the first of three romantic comedies together is super cute (and yes, we’ve seen them all!).

4. My Big Fat Greek Wedding

Overview: Toula (Nia Vardalos) has everybody in her big, Greek family worried she’ll never meet the perfect man. Until she falls in love with Ian Miller (John Corbett) who is–wait for it–NOT Greek. Now she has to try and get her family to accept him while figuring out her own cultural identity in the process.

Why We Love It: My Big Fat Greek Wedding was actually adapted from the one-woman, off-Broadway show written by and starring Vardalos, which is based on her own real-life marriage to husband Ian Gomez (Javier from Felicity!). Full of comedy, angst, and a lot of family drama, it’s also a movie about transformations, which we always have a soft spot for!

3. Sex and the City

Overview: Starting where the hit HBO series of the same name left off, Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) is happy and in love with Mr. Big (Chris Noth)…and they’re getting married! Everything seems like it’s going great for Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte, and Samantha until Carrie’s wedding day when somebody gets a MAJOR case of cold feet. And it’s not just Carrie that is dealing with relationship drama and big life questions in this big screen version of the show.

Why We Love It: We know this movie wasn’t critically acclaimed (especially the second one!) but we still love it. If you’re a fan of the TV show we think you will definitely love this movie!

2. Bride Wars

Overview: Best friends Liv (Kate Hudson) and Emma (Anne Hathaway) have been planning their wedding ever since they were little girls, including the wedding venue (New York’s Plaza Hotel). So when they both get engaged around the same time they are so excited to plan it together, until a big mixup with wedding dates mean one of them is going to have to compromise. It’s either the wedding, their friendship…or something more.

Why We Love It: Of all the movies on this list we feel like this most accurately depicts some of the big wedding day decisions you have to make as a bride (including those that you should probably not stress so much about)! It’s a great movie to keep the bridezilla in all of us IN CHECK.

1. Father of the Bride

Overview: A remake of the 1950 Spencer Tracy movie of the same name, George Banks (Steve Martin) and his wife, Nina (Diane Keaton) are shocked when they hear that their only daughter Annie (Kimberly Williams) is engaged, especially dad. Now they have to deal with not only meeting in-laws and working with hilarious wedding planners (Martin Short), but dealing with the fact that their little girl is growing up and things will never be the same.

Why We Love It: This movie ALWAYS makes us cry, even when we were young and the thought of getting married seemed super far away. It’s a great one to watch before your big day as you think about just how special your relationship with your parents is, and how you need to remember that as you grow up and change. 🙂
